Information Milepost handles

Depending on the features you use, Milepost may handle:

• Drive and location data, including precise route coordinates, timestamps, distance, duration, speed, recording mode, stops, weather, and the moments you mark.
• Content you add, including Roadbook titles, notes, journal text, photos you select, highlights, profile information, and an optional profile photo.
• Garage information, such as vehicle year, make, model, trim, color, nickname, and related specifications.
• Optional music information, such as the title, artist, album, and time of an Apple Music track observed during a drive. Milepost does not copy album artwork into your Roadbook.
• Account, waitlist, and social information, including your email address when you join the waitlist, an assigned account identifier, public handle, display name, friendships, invitations, sharing choices, notification settings, and which shared Roadbooks you have seen.
• Device and service information, including device registration and push-notification tokens, security attestation information, IP address, request metadata, and diagnostics needed to operate and protect the service.

How information is collected

Information comes from what you enter or select, from permissions you grant on your device, and from the app’s operation while you use enabled features. iOS controls access to protected resources such as location, photos, and the media library. You can change those permissions in Settings.

How information is used

Milepost uses information to record drives, build and restore Roadbooks and route views, sync your data across supported devices, operate your garage and profile, connect you with friends, deliver requested notifications, create content you request, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and improve reliability.

Sharing and public pages

Your Roadbook is not published to the open web unless you choose a public sharing option. Public Roadbooks and public profiles can be viewed by anyone and may include your handle, profile details, vehicle, route, drive statistics, photos, notes, and other content you deliberately publish. Unlisted links can be viewed by anyone who receives the link. Friends-only Roadbooks are available only through the friend experience while your sharing setting allows it.

Be thoughtful before publishing location history or photos. Revoking a Milepost link prevents future access through Milepost, but it cannot erase copies or screenshots someone else already saved.

Service providers

Milepost may use service providers for hosting, storage, maps, push notifications, vehicle information, security, and user-requested image or story generation. They may process only the information needed to provide those functions under their own contractual and legal obligations. Milepost does not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

Milepost Pro purchases

Apple processes payments for Milepost Pro. RevenueCat processes purchase history, transaction information, subscription status, and an anonymous app identifier to validate purchases, restore access, prevent purchase fraud, and provide subscription analytics. Milepost does not send your routes, photos, notes, name, or email address to RevenueCat. Milepost does not receive your payment card details. For more information, see RevenueCat’s privacy policy.

Storage, retention, and security

Some information stays on your device; information used for backup, sharing, social features, or server-powered features is transmitted to Milepost’s service. Milepost retains information while your account is active or as reasonably needed to provide the service, honor sharing and deletion choices, maintain security, resolve disputes, and comply with law. Reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards are used, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You can change system permissions, edit or delete Roadbooks, revoke public sharing, remove friends, adjust friend-sharing and notification settings, and stop using optional features. Depending on where you live, you may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information. Contact us to make a request. We may need to verify that the account or device is yours before acting.

Children

Milepost is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
